T671, T672, T673, T674 Course Details

The entire Life skills training  will be directed towards Personal development, Emotional development and Social development. These learning area includes the development of

  1. self-concept,
  2. behaviour modification, and
  3. meaningful interaction with others.

The components of this learning area are the abilities to interact with adults and peers, express feelings and emotions without fear, develop self-awareness and demonstrate self-control, regulation, and coping strategies.

  • Personal Development:

Is about how children develop confidence in who they are and what they can do and how they express themselves.

 

  1. Modules
    1. Me and my identity – 6 sessions of 45 mins each
      • Understanding self
      • Feeling good about yourself
      • Creating a positive attitude
      • Dealing with teasing
      • Group pressure
      • Learning to say NO

 

  1. Personal Safety & Abuse –1 session of 45 mins 
  2. Understanding Growing up & changes during growing up – 1 session of 45 mins 
  3. Menstrual hygiene – 1 session of 45 mins 

 

  • Emotional development :

Is related to children’s overall development. Young children learn to adapt to the existence of emotions  e.g. joy, pain, anger through every day experiences.

 

  1. Modules –
    1. Understanding Emotions – 3 sessions of 45 mins each
      • Identifying feelings
      • Talking about your feelings

 

  1. Managing Emotions – 2 sessions of 45 mins each
    • Relation between Feelings / Emotions / Behaviour
    • Practicing positive self talk

 

  • Dealing with Mixed emotions – 1 session of 45 mins
  1. Empathy – 3 sessions of 45 mins each
    • Understanding impact of our behaviour on others.
    • Putting self in others shoes and understanding others.
    • Caring about others.

 

  • Social development :

It generally refers to the development of ways of adapting to the society’s rules of behaviour or learning to behave in a socially desirable manner.

    1. Communication Skills – 4 sessions of 45 mins each
      • Verbal / Non-verbal communication
      • Speaking / Listening
      • Hearing or Listening
      • ART of listening.

 

  • Cognitive Development

This refers to the areas of Learning development

    1. Understanding cognitive patterns – 2 sessions of 45 mins each
      • Identifying problem causing behaviour
      • Understanding A-B-C-D
    2. Learning
      • How to identify the areas of interests / intelligence
      • How to develop the area of interest
      • Seeking help and feedback
